Polk County Schools is a public school system in Western North Carolina serving approximately 2,500 students in grades prekindergarten through 13. The seven schools include one early college, one high school, one middle school and four elementary schools, all located in a small, mostly rural county in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Polk County students are recognized locally and at the state and national level for their high academic performance on both State and National Assessments.
